An Invitation to Make a Difference
The Obama Administration has brought a new look to Washington, from a more open approach to government and a sensible determination to address the problems of our economy to a more thoughtful and cooperative foreign policy. From health care reform to economic recovery, job creation and non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, our Democratic Administration has set out important goals for our nation. However, as the President often reminds us, these are not easy times and our problems, many years in the making, will not be solved quickly. As citizens, we must remain engaged.
I want to invite all Democrats and Independents in Transylvania County to become active with our party to assist the President and the Democratic Congress to bring a real transition to our country. Further, I would like to invite you to become a real part of our local party as we prepare to contest local elections in 2010. The goal of our party is to support a positive vision for our county, state and country and to elect excellent candidates who will help us achieve those goals.
The best way to become involved in our party is to contact the chair of your precinct and indicate your desire to help elect Democratic candidates. (The names and telephone numbers of precinct chairs are available on this website.) You might also want to sign up to receive notices from our county party of upcoming events and important issues being debated at county, state and national levels. This will help you to stay informed, so that you might let your representatives at every level know where you stand on the issues.
